Developing this site has cost a great deal of money, and it costs still more to keep it alive (hosting, domain names, etc). Any help you can offer in offsetting these costs is greatly appreciated.

: Tags have been taught at our chapter meetings on a sporadic basis since I joined the group. But in the past several weeks we have been doing it on a regular basis. It is one of the most fun segments of the evening that we do. Personally, I can learn the tags presented at the meetings but don't retain them after the meeting is over unless I can review them, especially on paper. This site will now be one of my favorites to visit everyday. Thanks to all involved in getting this marvelous tool online.

: This is a fantastic resource. If someone came up at a convention and gave you not just the four or five tags you were looking for, but access to hundreds more, would buy them a beer? Maybe lunch? If you think this is a good idea, skip the latte today and chip in $5 on the home page.

Thanks for getting this together and hosting it.  We're going to have a "tag competition" at our chorus in the coming weeks - I can guarantee we'll find a couple of gems here.

:  I'm relatively new to barbershop, and absolutely LOVE this style of music! I've been in a women's chorus for only two and a half years, and have recently started singing in a quartet with women who know as little about barbershop as I do. Our quartet really wants to improve our breathing, and we hear that singing tags is a great way to give your lungs a workout. I was THRILLED when I found this site, and I look forward to using it more in the future. Thanks SO much to the creators of barbershoptags.com for making this happen!!

Any chance of getting the dots for the tags posted that don't have any attached? Transcribing is such a fag for me.
The site gets better and better. Thanks

: This is GREAT!!  I sing in a women's chorus and there are a few of us that stay an hour ...or more after rehearsal to sing tags.

: What an amazing effort to create this site.  I am 36 years old and have been barbershopping for 25 years.  I can't imagine starting the hobby 25 years ago with this website as a tool to learn barbershop.  Congratulations on your efforts and I will certainly spread the word.  When is there going to be an iphone app?  That would be an amazing addition.  Keep the Whole World Singing.

: I really enjoy the features offered for uploading tags.  Free membership as well as being able to upload sheet music and audio/video files is awesome!  Can't wait to try out new ones I find on this site as well as adding more as I write them, thanks!

: What a great site.  I have for years been putting tags on pdfs.  I now have almost 600 inclucing all from the "classic tags" book, and I add a couple every day.  I was concerned with copyright so I didn't want to publish the fact that I had done that.  I use them at a chorus rehearsal, and print them 36" wide so they can be read by a group.  I have hundreds more than those shown on your site and would be glad to send them as pdfs to anyone that is interested.  But I am worried about copyright.  How did you get around it?

:

A really enjoyable site.  Love singing barbershop and quartetting.  If a barbershop song is a meal, then the tag is the dessert.  Going to this site is like going to a candy store only you don't gain any weight.  For all of you barbershoppers out there, if you are wanting to sing in a quartet but are having trouble finding the other parts, then give QuartetMatchup.com a try.  You can find a quartet or if you're trying to find a missing voice part for a quartet you're building, then QuartetMatchup.com can help.  Then you'll be able to sing these tags in you're own quartet.

: As a big fan of tag singing and tag teaching, I'm a huge supporter of this kind of work. I found Joe Liles comment regarding some kind of blatant copyright violation (with millions of dollars in fees) very disturbing, especially since I like Joe and respect him very much. Really struck a nerve. Fortunately having followed your link to the actual US Copyright Law, especially regarding the limitations of the rights of the copyright holder that are provided by the "Fair Use" doctrine, I found some comfort in what I have been doing for years as a teacher. Rights of copyright are not unlimited. Laws change, and what used to be considered illegal has been made legal. I think any attorney or judge in his/her right mind would see (in current law) that these reproductions are completely non-profit, are mere fractions of the original copyrighted works, are provided purely for educational purposes, and do not detract from the potential market for the original work (in fact, quite the opposite) which is exactly what is spelled out in the law as being completely, well, LEGAL (summarized in section 107 of Title 17 in the US Code of Law). So, get over it, learn a tag, ring it, enjoy it, find out who wrote it, and by all means please go out and buy the arrangement of the entire song for your quartet/chorus. I have purchased many arrangements this way, hearing or seeing the tag first. The arrangers and copyright holders are benefiting greatly by all the free advertising, so it's completely a win-win situation. Enough said.
Thanks Ben - we really appreciate the support.  Your comments are most welcome.  You have spelled out exactly how we hope all people will see this site.  Enjoy the tags!

P.S.  If anyone's interested, our position on copyright is detailed here
