| Comments: | This one comes from the comedy folk musician Jonathan Coulton's song, "I Crush Everything", which is written from the POV of a giant squid. I know it sounds weird, but it's actually hauntingly beautiful and speaks to the heart of unrequited love (especially if you see yourself as a bit of a monster in some way). I tried to keep the vibe of the original, so it's very soft throughout and there are small breaks where the large gaps are in the original melody (since there are backing instruments) so it's four separate phrases. You can substitute the opening lyric of 'been dreaming' since 'am dreaming' is only sung on the last line in the original. Enjoy! I hope to do some more JoCo tags in the future!! |
