I got a sweet birthday card from my wife's younger brother (he's 20 years younger than her, and was maybe 6 at the time) - it reads: "The best is you, someone special is you" and I thought it would make a really cute tag. I've been trying to write it myself, but I just don't have the know-how... would you be up to lending your talents to this noble project?” Adam LeFebvre wrote to me. He sent me a voice recording of the ideas he had for the lead line and the bass part. I transcribed the parts and sent them to him for confirmation. From there on, it came together quickly in my head. A couple of iterations later, here it is… Adam: “The best birthday gifts you receive are the ones that come from the heart. Needless to say, the gift I received from my 6-year-old brother-in-law touched my heart. Using his newfound talent for writing, he put to words how he felt about me, and I was so inspired I reached out to Manoj to put it to music. The chords of this tag reflect the song my heart made when I first read this simple message.” |
