Lyrics: | The evening breeze caressed the trees tenderly |
Comments: | Inspired by the Hi-Los. CORRECTIONS--instead of bari holding Eb for the 'trees' slide, slide up from Eb-Ab. Also on 2nd syllable of 'carressed', sounds better if bass goes to C not Db. The track sounds that way anyway & flows better down the hill. Begins in Ab Major, jazzy sweet take, makes a sudden shift to Eb for finality. If bass is too low at the end, go up the octave and fool the listener! High tenor has the melody. Tenor in the recording, make sure the Eb-E slide can be heard. Bass helps bring light to that by going Ab-Bb. An alternate version could slide to the Db7 like on "tender." Bass uses bebop/half-diminished combo-ish scale going to "trees." Taggers should take their time there because it's just too cool to obscure! |
