Comments: | NOT THE CLASSIC-TAGS 'CRY', SORRY!!! This one's more of a blues take on a Johnny Ray classic, arranged for Northern Pines Brigade. Lead's lead-in normally has accompaniment by other voices, but those were taken out for the sake of this tag. Channel your inner Neil Sedaka or Crystal Gale! Basses on your end solo, channel your inner Ray Charles! (or everybody channel whoever you want to channel) Chords in this are pretty cool; ends on a Bb major 7, or a D-/Bb slash chord. Pay attention to the locks on these, especially the Eb-11s & -7s; they're quite unique. Let the bass solo settle into the juicy Bb slash chord! Basses helpful tip: think of where the phrase is going, rather than dread the E-natural out in space. Think of the crux 'on and '-by' notes since they're anchors for the overall chord, and come in half step lower (or whole step higher for the second one). |
