| Comments: | Take this at a nice easy ballad tempo. Revel in the 2 chromatic substitutions going on, especially the gateway major-7 'see' chord; can even make that a little fermata if desired. Starts with a modified minor ii-V-i where the ii is half-diminished and the V has a flat-9. Make the hum go straight to the m for the vigilant effect leading to the final 'how fragile'. Originally wrote this in C minor (ending in Eb major). Try in that key if you have a great anchoring bass & low bari! |
